Inspiration

Inspiration

Please tell what you find.
This is a great site that has taken a lot of time and money into a program that has so many benefits for the students as well as the educators. The children will be engrossed in what they will think is so much fun while learning. Learning is the ultimate goal and it seems that the Inspiration site has taken the necessary steps to hold their attention and teach at the same time.
What you think.
I think that if teachers were to take the time to integrate this program into their curriculum it would be of great benefit to both parties. Time management and class participation would be at an all time high and the students would be moving forward into this world that is so deeply engrossed in technology. This program alone would be a great advantage toward preparing our youth for their future advancement in an ever changing world.
What interests you.
I love the way that the site is set up in such an animated and colorful way. I think that they children will appreciate that this is where they can come and be successful at what they are doing. They see mom and dad at the computer and they want to do that too but it’s what more personalized when the screen has an obvious touch of child’s play. Silly really but that’s what I think.
How and why may you use Inspiration in your classroom?
I will use this tool in my class for the students so that they can have a multiple set of resources for asking questions and seeking answers. For example if I say I want an outline on chapter six in the text they can come to this site and choose an outline format and while actively reading the text make an outline. This ensures that they read the text and use critical thinking skills to express the main points. They will receive multiple touches and this will make the information more likely to stay in the long term memory. Great asset to the classroom.
Paragraph 2: According to the website and the textbook, answer the following questions:
What type of writing activities would make the best use of technology in your classroom?
Well just to name a few : Overviews or summaries, Do’s and don’t s, vocabulary, comparison and contrast, description activities, organizing information, describe processes, describe changes, introductions and summarizing statements, making connections and introductions and conclusions.

Writing is an activity that benefits from multiple revisions and high-quality feedback. Recognizing that your teaching time is limited, how can you have students help each other during writing? How can you use technology tools to support peer feedback?
I can encourage my kids to read each others work and effectively critique. I can do this through continued classroom management . If we were to set up a class blog page such as the one that we started in class that would further facilitate the technology tools and the kids could communicate freely in a safe environment with one another.

What I Think About Blogs

1.What do you think about using blogs?

I think that blogs are like televison. You can walk away with whatever interpertation you like. The producer has no responsability to the consumer and keeping that in mind I think that blogging is subjective and depending on the person can be benificial as much as the consumer will allow it to be. I also feels that blogging adds further proof to the way technology is changing the way we interact with society and how we live.

2.What and how do you think blogs would be useful for education?

Post materials and resources
Host online discussion
Create a class publication
Replace your newsletter
Get your students blogging
Share your lesson plans
Integrate multimedia of all descriptions
Organise, organise, organise
Get feedback
Create a fully functional website

3.Some people think using blogs in classrooms is a waste of students’ time. How would you respond?

I feel that students of the current times do not realize what a privelage it is to have so many assistive technologies. Look at how the abuses of the You Tube. recorded fight, gain initiations recorded and in s sense set to a freakish standard of glory. Never the less I feel that students who use the tool as it was intended will reap great benefits. I also have a concern though for those families that are more and more commonly unable to afford the internet at home and the negative ramifications it can have for them academically as well as social.

4.What are some ways that you could use he technology ideas in Chapter 6 to support your curriculum and student learners?

Post Materials and resources
Host online discussion
Create Class Publication
Newssletter
Get students blogging (Find actual thoughts)
Share lesson plans
Integrate multimedia
Organize
Commuincate effectively with parents

2nd Week

Here we are in the second week of class and although we all enjoy our computers and learning how to use them I have a hard time enjoying sitting and listening. Plus its so cold I could freeze meat in these rooms but thats neither here nor there and I just want the time to go by faster so that I can run to the next daunting task and work through that. Not that I'm copmplaining just expressing how I really feel at this very moment. Hope everyone has a great productive year good luck.
